Abstract


The problem of da'wah is not only about the millennial generation in the current era of advanced digital technology. However, the essence of da'wah itself is an invitation for goodness to all human beings on earth, including the elderly (seniors). The aim of this research is to analyze the da'wah methods used by preachers to increase religious understanding (Islamic teachings) in the elderly. This research method uses qualitative-descriptive research. The primary data was obtained from interviews and secondary data was obtained from literacy sources such as books, journals and others. The results of this research show that there are at least two da'wah methods used by a preacher in providing material to elderly congregations in Kalipucang Kulon village, namely the lecture and question and answer methods. Increasing understanding of Islamic teachings is carried out through strategies used by preachers in providing material in routine recitations. There are driving factors in the form of family support and infrastructure, there are also obstacles in the implementation of preaching in the form of psychological and physical conditions for the elderly. Thus, to increase understanding of Islamic teachings among the elderly, a preacher must be good at reading situations.
